Nippo Professional Baseball (NPB) player Masayoshi Hasegawa was not only a huge fan of Japanese sports but also enjoyed the country’s national dish.
As reported by Sports Japan, the NPB player was spotted in Tokyo during a game between Tokyo Yakult Swallows and Yokohama DeNA BayStars, and uploaded the image of him wearing a red shirt with a sign reading ‘Nippon Pro Baseball, Japan’ on the front.
The NPB is currently facing a financial crisis and Hasego was among the many who were unable to watch the match due to the cancellation of the tournament.
In the post, Hasekawa said he was inspired by Japan’s national sport and wished to make his country proud.
Hasegwa said he felt he needed to share his appreciation for the country and its people with the world.
“I just want to say thank you to Japan for giving me this opportunity to come here and play,” Hasega wrote.
“This is my dream and my passion.
I want to give this moment a big shout out.”
